After a life well lived, it is with much sadness that the family announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, February 17, 2024 in his 96th year.
Bert was born in Eramosa Township, on May 25, 1928 to Thomas and Agnes (Coffey) Kelly. With his wife Mary (Berberich) of 72 years, they lived and raised their family of 9 children in Rockwood. In August of 2023, Bert and Mary were blessed to have celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary.
Beloved father of Brian (2020), Barbara (1995) Bradley, Stephen (Liz), Ron (Diane), Albert, Mary Lou (Jeff), Marilyn (Allan) and (Tommy) (1975). Proud Papa of 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Mary (Don) McGugan and Vera (Garfield) Tarzwell and brother John (Helen) Kelly.
Bert was proud and passionate of his life-long career in the trucking industry; 37 years of which were with the United Co-operative of Ontario. He was a devoted and committed community member who served his Pastors and fellow parishioners of St. Peter’s Cemetery Oustic Cemetery Committee. Those who knew him, can tell you that Bert enjoyed his life to the fullest and on his own terms. He was grateful for his many blessings and sad to leave his family and friends. As an avid conversationalist, he will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by his “coffee shop buddies.”
