Frances Stinnett, 83, of Nederland, died January 17, 2014, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Born September 3, 1930, she was the daughter of Bennie Boyd Reeves and T. C. Reeves. Frances and her husband, Robert, enjoyed camping and traveling with their retired friends. She also enjoyed reading, was passionate about the Astros and enjoyed playing different kinds of games. Most of all, she enjoyed life and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Stinnett of Nederland; daughters, Karen Hill and her husband, Steve, of Baytown and Paula Segrest and her husband, John, of Vidor; grandchildren, Shaun Myers, Kelby Myers, Kristi Lambert, Ashli Stinnett, Natasha Heater, John Paul Segrest, Jr., Holli Nixon, Brittney Stinnett, and Joshua Gooding; great-grandchildren, Krislyn Davis, Jaislyn Heater; Alexis, Olivia, Ethan and Ruby Myers; and Devin and Bailey Nixon; brothers, Curtis Reeves and his wife, Edna Mae, of Silsbee and Delano Reeves and his wife, Sally, of Lumberton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her sons, David Stinnett and James Stinnett; and brother Henry Reeves.
A gathering of Mrs. Stinnett’s family and friends will be Tuesday evening, January 21, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Christian Vigil at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Stinnett’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
