Matthew Scott Spangler

Matthew Scott Spangler, 50, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at his residence. He was born October 28, 1973, in Columbus, Ohio. He was the Fleet Operations Manager for The Ohio State University. When Matt took over the fleet for OSU he had a small portion of the fleet. He exceled in his job until he took over the entire fleet. Anything with wheels Matt was in charge of. He previously worked for 15 years for COTA as a diesel mechanic. Matt enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Matt never met a stranger and was a friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Spangler. Grandparents Emmett & Mary Spangler and Everett & Silthey McDonald.

Matt is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Kerri Spangler; children, Quintin (Lauren) Spangler, Rhian (Francisco) Spangler, grandchildren Jocilyn and Dominic. Mother Joan Spangler. Sister Kellie (Josh) Ruetsch. Niece and nephew Lauren & Nicholas, Family Jill & Eddie Hess. Best Friend Robbie Rhodes and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., (HOOVER RD AT KINGSTON AVE), Grove City where funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
