James M. Lovsey, of Grove City, Ohio, born October 2, 1947, died October 30, 2022. Jim was preceeded in death by his parents Albert and Virginia (Law) Lovsey. He is survived by his wife, Molly, son Michael Lovsey of Marion, OH and daughter Emily Lovsey, Columbus, OH, mother-in-law Nancy Pickard of North Canton, OH brothers-in-law Charles (Sally Farbeann) Pickard of Waldorf, MD and Dan Pickard of North Canton, OH, grandchildren Shelly and Elijah Lovsey of Marion, OH and Owen Stevens of Columbus, OH. Also nieces and nephews Laura (Jacob Farrier) Pickard of White Plains, MD, Joseph (Hilla Shimshoni) Farbeann of Washington, D.C., Haley Pickard of Greensburg, PA, Nancy Pickard of Blue Ash, OH and Anna Pickard of Cleveland, OH; great-niece and great-nephews Emma & Ethan Farbeann of Washington, D.C. and Frederick Farrier and Marie Pickard of White Plains, MD.
Jim graduated from Central HS, Columbus, OH and attended Ohio State University. He served in the US Army from 1970 – 1972 at the Pentagon. He was employed by the Franklin County Welfare Dept., the Ohio Department of Education and retired from the Metropolitan Education Council in 2011, as a systems administrator.
Jim loved to read, watch baseball and football and perform magic for his grandchildren. He played the harmonica and loved the Blues and his cats and puttering around on the computer.
Jim was one of the most honest and ethical persons we know and we miss him dearly.
Jim’s family will receive friends 11Am to 1 PM Friday, November 11 at Schoedinger Grove City 4242 Hoover Rd (HOOVER RD at KINGSTON AVE). Private family interment to follow.
