Harold is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Patricia Aldrich, daughter Rebecca Aldrich-O'Rourke, son Christopher Aldrich, and his cherished grandchildren: Joshua Aldrich, Hailey Aldrich, Shawn Aldrich, Makayla Mathney, Serenity Exline, Malakia Aldrich, Elijah O'Rourke, Hannah O'Rourke, and Eden O'Rourke.
A proud graduate of Franklin Heights High School, Harold retired after 38 years of service with the Franklin Township Road Department. His personality was one-of-a-kind: ornery, yet full of life. He was passionate about his hobbies, including Marvel movies, all things Sci-Fi, and outdoor activities, particularly hunting. He also coached soccer when his son Christopher played, further demonstrating his love for family and community.
Harold’s sense of humor was evident in the many stories shared by his loved ones. One memorable moment came when his daughter Rebecca was born she had to spend time in the NICU. Harold, ever the prankster, took his wife Patricia to the NICU after she was discharged, telling her to look at their beautiful baby girl—only to reveal a baby ape in a nearby crib, making her believe it was their daughter! Harold was always there for his family, a dedicated husband and father who enjoyed being surrounded by his kids and grandkids.
A man of simple pleasures, Harold loved good food, especially ice cream and steak. His passion for grilling was legendary—so much so that he once grilled through a tornado warning, sending the kids to the basement to keep them safe while he cooked.
Patricia, who shared his life for over five decades, will miss him deeply. Though Harold was not one for many words, his presence spoke volumes. You always knew not to push his buttons, but his love for his family was never in question.
Harold's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
