Don Sheldon

Don Sheldon, age 57, of Grove City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 1, 2022. Don was born in Columbus, OH., the son of the late Richard “Dick” and Phyllis Ann (née Spangler) Sheldon. He was a graduate of Bishop Hartley High School (Class of 1982) and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. Don’s family was the most important thing in his life, and he loved spending time with them. His passions were cooking, gardening, entertaining and enjoying the outdoors with his dogs Gracie and Jax. Don chose a career in sales that spanned over three decades. He was a highly successful Mortgage Banker (VP), with the Federal Savings Bank. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Catholic Church. Don was a huge Buckeye fan, a lifelong Green Bay Packer Backer, and a Columbus Blue Jacket fanatic since the team’s inaugural year. He was the consummate tailgater and loved to host any gathering of friends and families. Simply said, Don worked hard and he played hard. He lived life big and gave love to all the people around him from his enormous heart. He had a ferocious passion and drive for life and family. He exuded his energy and life force through us all. His absence is already felt by so many to which he gave light. We love and miss you Don Sheldon.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his sister-in-law Susan (née Guth) Warrell. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Linda Sheldon; Children Brittany (Ian) Fisher, Blake (Sylva Gyuloglyan) Sheldon, Nick (Mikaela) Hale, and Sara Hale; grandchildren Joplin and Hendrix Fisher and Beckett and Bohdi Hale; brother Dan (Litia) Sheldon; uncle Phil (Billie) Wayt; brother-in-law John (Debbie) Guth; sisters-in-law Mary and Cathy Guth; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Don’s family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life, from 4-7 PM Monday, April 11, 2022 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd (Hoover Rd at Kingston Ave). Family and friends attending the Celebration are invited to wear team colors of the Buckeyes (Scarlet & Gray), Packers (Green & Gold) or Blue Jackets (Red, White, & Blue) to help celebrate Don’s life. Don’s Memorial Service will be held 10 AM Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the same location.Rev. Fr. Joseph Yokum officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Linda Sheldon to help cover expenses.
