Dawnea Lee Johns

Dawnea Lee Johns, age 55, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away on November 12, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Donald Lee Barker and Beverly Ann Dysert, and then later moved to Grove City where she spent most of her life.

Dawnea was preceded in death by her father; her sister, Karen Wysong; her aunt, Patty Denny; and her son, Armani Anderson.

Dawnea is survived by her loving mother; her children, Mandy (James) Osborn, Tiffany Stone(Alex Estrada), Ashley (Samuel) Daniels, and Bodie Johns Sr.; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Lexi Hess, Lyric Stone, Clara Daniels, Kylah Osborn, Gibson Stone, Cora Daniels, Remy Lytle, Joseph Vatter, Bodie Johns Jr., and Calliope Daniels. She also leaves behind two more grandchildren on the way, Giovanni Johns and Baby Daniels.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Dawnea is survived by her brothers and sisters, Bradley (Liz) Barker, and Myra (Ronald) Morris, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She also leaves behind many "kids" whom she claimed as her own.

A proud Nana, Dawnea's grandchildren were the light of her life. She enjoyed crocheting and her favorite things to make were beautiful baby blankets for each of them. Dawnea had a sassy and fiery personality that endeared her to all who knew her. She had a special affection for sloths and her beloved cats, and her love for music brought her joy throughout her life.

Dawnea will be remembered for her strength, her love for her family, and her one-of-a-kind spirit. She touched the hearts of many and will forever live on in the memories of those who loved her.

Dawnea’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Anna Rosier with Mount Carmel Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion she showed Dawnea during her final days.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio, 43123. A funeral service will begin after the visitation at 12 noon with Pastor Jay Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery, 6244 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio, 43123
