Carla S. Allen

Carla S. Allen age 59 of Columbus passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 13, 2022. Carla was born in Columbus to the late Boyd and Alice (Haines) Reed. She graduated from Westland High school. Carla worked for Doctor’s Hospital and at Southwestern City Schools as a cook, most of those years at Westland. She loved sunshine, flowers, gardening, all types of candy and sweets. She looked forward to cooking Sunday dinners, and making plans for when she hit the lottery. Also taking “road dog” trips in the truck where she stopped at her favorite gas stations for a big styrofoam cup full of Pepsi, ice and a straw. The Center of Carla's world was her grandson Lucas. Going to his trap shooting competitions, being the designated backseat driver of the golf cart, cheering him on, sharing funnel cakes and lemonade gave her so much joy. Carla was an amazing sister, wife, mother, Memaw and friend. She was one of a kind with a beautiful heart, wonderful smile and life lasting impressions on everyone she met. It was impossible to not love her. In addition to her parents, Carla is preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 29 years, Dave. She is survived by her daughters Emily Allen( Thomas Payjack) and Amy Allen; grandchildren Lucas Allen, Frankie Jordan, and Wyatt Jordan; sister Pamela Chaffin; Karl “Brad” Reed, and Philip (Dorinda) Reed; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Carla’s life will be held 1-4 PM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Prairie Township Community Center 5955 W. Broad St Galloway, OH 43119.
