Dr Vipond did my muscle surgery when I was 3 years old. I am 58 now and so thankful for this brilliant young surgeon who straightened my eyes for life. Rest In Peace Dr Vipond. I remember the moose club you had in the office.

my eyes are watering, now today I just heard the news dr vipond went to heaven...I was going to tell him they have an fda approval cure for leukemia...(I hope my dad and him are fishing)

I am devastated to hear of the loss of this Amazing man & my eye doctor for years since my first eye exam at 1 to surgery at 3:years old through to my last surgery in my 20's.  He was a gentle, intelligent & kind man. One of the extremely few medical doctors I trusted completely.  Living in Florida, Germany, Tennessee, & UP of MI, I haven't kept in touch, but I have & never will forget you. Words cannot express what you meant to me. Best wishes & prayers for comfort & peace to all who mourn the loss of this remarkable & wonderful human being who will be deeply missed.

Dear Vipond Family,
Although I was not a close personal friend, I had the privilege of sharing patients with Fraser for over 30 years. I got to know him very well as a colleague. I enjoy consulting with him and discussing the challenging cases. He always strove to provide the best possible care for his patients and they we most appreciative. When I saw them many shared an amusing anecdote or a fond story. Most of all, Fraser was able to set an example of care and dedication. His patients were fortunate that he was continue his practice throughout his lifetime.
I wish you condolences for loss.

Trying out photo shop on some pictures I took of him when I got a phone with a camera.Â  I also share the deep pain of loss. My parents knew him when he first started his practice! He was my doctor, and I would say that he was my 'FRIEND' too. He liked all kinds of people,Â  rich and poor, any walk of life, and he was sure that you left feeling better having known him.Â 
My prayers of peace and comfortÂ  go out to his wife and family, his extended family of friends, patients, his doctors, and colleagues. To know him was to love him. He brought great joy to all that interacted with him.
Thanks go to the oncologist that kept him alive and without the ravages most people get from chemo and cancer.Â 
Thanks to all of the people who kept the office going so he could do what he loved most...being a truly devoted doctor helping people with the precious gift of site. He took his job very seriously. I think that this kept him going for a much longer time than what might have been otherwise. It kept his passion alive for what he loved most, and gave him purpose for each and every day.
The world has lost one of the best people it has ever known. I deeply grieve along with the rest of you. May we all see him again some day. He taught us many many things by example. Let's all glean from that and carry the torch that held in his heart for the love of life, encouraging others, really listening with feeling, looking for an opportunity to make someone's life better with lightening the load with a joke, laughter, and a smile. When you sat down with him in his office he made you feel like you were the most important part of his day. OMG what a man!Â 
He didn't leave us alone with nothing, he left our hearts and minds so full of a unique and fantastic experience of knowing him, if it was for a life time or just serving him at the window at drive thru. He blessed you with his presence which was full of light, love and joy. He really liked himself in a 'healthy way' and didn't care what others thought of uniquely blessed larger than life personality which purposed daily to bring joy, connection, compassion,Â  understanding to every one he encountered. I think because he liked himself and didn't care what others thought freed up a lot of energy to care for others in such great capacities and that energy came back to him and gave him a long and healthy life that he lived very well.Â 
My wish for all of us remaining behind, we do what Dr Vipond would do.
Feel good about ourselves, be good to others, really listen, invest and connect when you are with someone either in person or on the phone. Love something daily, let it stir feelings in you. Keep searching your heart for what he taught us by his wonderful example.Â

I started working for Dr. Vipond 8 months ago. I am so glad I had the chance to work with a Dr who was loved and trusted by so many patients. This week and last week his patients were calling to see how he was doing and when he was coming back. It was really hard telling them that he wasn't coming back. All I could hear was silence and shaky voices at the other end or tears. Dr. Vipond was loved by many and left a lasting impression with his jokes, sense of humor and his favorite expressions of words! He always knew how to put a smile on your face! R.I. P. Dr. Vipond. You will be deeply missed by many!

I want Dr. Vipond's family to know what a special Dr. he was. My dad was an auto repairman and we lived in Roseville. Several times my dad had accidents (45 - 50 years ago, before safety glasses) and he would have metal shards in his eye. My dad was not an easy patient and Dr. Vipond would let him come in the back door so he didn't have to wait for his excellent treatment. I would take my dad and I was always felt Dr. Vipond's caring, professional nature. RIP.

Dear Vipond Family, I am truly sorry for your loss. I have been a patient of Dr. Vipond since I was 5 years old, and I am now 61. He performed surgery on both my eyes with great success. I was pretty scared during that time but he always had a joke or something to make you smile and feel at ease, there was no other like him. RIP and keep them laughing!!

I worked for Dr.Vipond right after graduating from high school. He was quite the character . His patients loved him .
He was also very generous and good to his employees. I have many happy memories and certainly am thankful for him. Condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear of this loss. Prayers to the family and friends this great man. When my son was 3 years old Dr. Vipond performed surgery on both of his eyes. Being such a traumatic time for us he made things so much easier with his kindness and humor. Some times with the emergency's the wait to see him would be very long. With his sense of humor he could make a 5 hour wait feel like only 5 minutes. My favorite was when he would put on his Shriners hat and take out his sword and run down the hall screaming. You don't find many greats like him these days. Sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry to hear Dr. Vipond has passed. He treated my brother many years ago, and he was the only one who could see my son without a months long wait. He was wonderful with my son, and he even took on my ex-husband when my son quit wearing his glasses. Dr. Vipond was a very kind man, and one of the best in his field (in my opinion). May his memory be but for a blessing. And may your memories of him be light and peace in your time of sorrow.

Dr. Vipond always loved life and followed the beat of his own drum. He left a positive impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was truly an amazing person who, among many other things, would always take time out of his busy schedule for the past 25 years to call me and wish me a happy anniversary and birthday. I will miss his calls...He will always be remembered fondly. I hope that he is enjoying a well deserved rest in the afterlife... Love-Valerie Hendricks

Dr. Vipond was an angel sent by God. He helped so many people in so many ways! I worked at Holy Cross Hospital where my father was also a physician (Dr.Mario del Valle). Dr. Vipond was so full of life and always happy! My wish is that his family mends and knows that he loved them all very much! God bless you all!

If I were outside working, he always took the time to stop and say "hello" on his way to work. He seemed to be dedicated to his job and his patients. He will be missed by all who knew him. What a fabulous doctor. The medical field has truly lost quite an asset. He performed a surgery on my eye 42 years ago and my family and I could never have thanked him enough.
