Vito Peter Cusenza

Vito Peter Cusenza, 93, of Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan passed away on October 6, 2024. Vito is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Emilia and was a loving father to his four children James (widower of Marilyn), Annette, Paul (Sally) and Vincent (Tammy). Dearest grandfather of the late William and Diane (Benjamin), Amy (Bryan), Sarah (Gabriel), Aria, Sabrina and Mia and dearest great grandfather to Juniper. Predeceased by his sister Sarah and brother Paul and survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

Vito received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Detroit and a J.D. from Wayne State University. He had a distinguished career with Ford Motor Company and Dupont designing and manufacturing the paint on Ford’s vehicles for almost forty years. He was also an attorney and realtor for many years actively practicing into his late 80s. He served our country by volunteering for the U.S. Army. Vito was an active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and had a strong faith that guided the way he lived, always fair and striving to help others succeed and have fun – he loved a good party. He enjoyed supporting the University of Detroit basketball, rarely missing a home game for over 60 years. He was a natural leader in his community and led many organizations including in ballroom dance, celebrating Italian heritage, school reunions and the Knights of Columbus.

A visitation for Vito will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, including a rosary at 7:00 PM, at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.

A visitation will occur Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM with the funeral mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 467 Fairford Road, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.
