Nancy Jean McCall

"Nancy Jean (Bershback) McCall, aged 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 6, 2024, in Grosse Pointe Woods after a 6-year battle with dementia. Born on November 19, 1947, Nancy was a proud alumna of St. Paul Catholic School in Grosse Pointe Farms and Michigan State University.

Widowed at the young age of 36, and having lost both parents by 38, Nancy faced tragedy with strength and grace. Despite hardship, she thrived as a single mother. Nancy was also successful in two vastly different career paths. First, as an elementary school teacher in Ortonville MI, and later as a Paralegal specializing in asbestos litigation in Detroit.

Nancy had a passion for travel, both internationally with her parents as a teenager, and then later in life exploring the United States with Andy. A favorite destination was the Black Hills in South Dakota where she delighted in seeing prairie dogs and wild buffalo. Nancy loved animals and took great care to make her yard a sanctuary for neighborhood birds, squirrels and rabbits.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George R. McCall. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Eisenbrey; sister, Sally Bershback; her boyfriend of 32 years, Andy Anderson; son-in-law, Ned Eisenbrey; and her cherished grandchildren, Finley and Sophie.

Visitation will be on Thursday October 17th from 4:00-8:00 at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods. A rosary service will be at 7:00pm.

An instate will occur Friday, October 18, 2024 at 9:30 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080. A funeral mass will occur Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080.

A burial will occur Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N Perry Street, Pontiac, MI

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Humane Society of the United States."
