Michelle Denise McCann, age 56, of St. Clair Shores passed away on Thursday, May 6th, 2021 at her home. She was born along with her twin brother, Michael David McCann, on December 30th 1964 to her parents David Michael & Mary Catherine (Chesney) McCann and older sister Maureen Elizabeth.
Michelle was very bright, beautiful, imaginative & artistic and loved children, dogs, cats, cats & cats. She had no children of her own but she and husband Bob Font spent endless weekends at their house having fun and entertaining Michael’s sons Matt, Steve & Jeff along with Bob’s daughter Alana and Renee’s daughter Ashley and later Maureen’s kids Mike & Marina. Her neighbor told me that on her way to the store, Michelle would stop and visit with her small children and bring them treats. She loved making children happy.
Birthdays, holidays, summer vacations, family reunions and celebrations were spent with family. Her favorite holiday was Christmas (of course) but she also loved Halloween - and her decorating was always outstanding! She made many friends throughout her childhood and youth from nursery school through high school and maintained those friendships throughout her life
Her life was devastated by the death of her twin brother, Mike (8/28/94) and she grieved deeply for him. He, as well as her father, Dave McCann and her grandmother Linda McCann and grandpa Edwin Chesney, Aunt Betty Drumm, Uncle Jim Chesney and Cousins Jay, Steve & Jill Simmons, David Chesney & Casey Drumm, will now welcome her.
She is survived by her beloved mother, Mary Seraphinoff (Nick); her sister, Maureen Michaels, five step brothers and sisters; Angelica McCann, Julie, David, Nicholas Jr., and Emily Seraphinoff; her nieces and nephews, Matthew, Stephen and Jeffrey McCann, Michael and Marina Damaskinos, Mallory and Spenser Price, Angela, Marguerite, Nicky and Isabella Seraphinoff. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends also survive her.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, May 14th, 2021 in A.H. Peters Funeral Home of Grosse Pointe (20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, 48236). A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 in St. Augustine and St. Monica Catholic Church (4151 Seminole @ Sylvester, Detroit, MI 48214), with a family viewing at the church beginning at 10:30 AM.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Augustine & St Monica Church 4151 Seminole, Detroit, MI 48214 or Alternatives for Girls 903 W Grand Blvd. Detroit, MI 48208 in memory of Michelle D. McCann
Eternal rest grant unto her, Oh Lord, and let Perpetual Light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace. Amen
