Lenore Diana Hayes, born on November 7, 1927, peacefully passed away on April 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born at home in the west end of Boston, MA, and her life was a testament to love, strength, and resilience.
Lenore was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Joseph Earl Hayes. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Lenore's legacy lives on through her devoted children: Lenore (Ian) Leath, Joseph (Betsy) Hayes, and Constance (Paul) Plantinga.
She was a doting grandmother to Ian (Danielle) Leath, Justin (Sarah) Leath, Joe Hayes, Michelle (Joe) Savalle, and Tara (Kevin) Stover, and took immense joy in their accomplishments and milestones. Lenore also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, with the ninth eagerly anticipated.
In addition to her immediate family, Lenore is survived by her brothers Richard Intravaia and Robert Intravaia. She is reunited in heaven with her late siblings Salvatore Intravaia, Mary Carvelli, Rose Puma, and John Intravaia.
Lenore's life was marked by her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Her warm smile, compassionate heart, gentle spirit, and excellent cooking will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 23 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with a memorial visitation to begin at 9:30am followed by the funeral mass at 10am.
May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to bring comfort and solace to those who mourn her loss.
