Joyce Ann (nee: McCreedy) Roehl, age 80, of Grosse Pointe Farms died on Sunday, November 21, 2021. She was born on July 18, 1941 to the late Allen and Margaret (nee: Krojenka) McCreedy. She is a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea.
Joyce grew up in St. Clair shores and attended Southlake high school where she was prom queen. Joyce attended the University of Detroit where she earned a degree in Mathematics. For the last 20 years she was the president of the Aline Underhill Orten Foundation where she enjoyed working in the philanthropic arena. Prior to her foundation work, she retired from EDS as a project manager.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her adored grandchildren. Joyce would lovingly prepare large family meals for her children and grandchildren. When not spending time with family, she enjoyed reading English murder mysteries, traveling the world, watching the boats from the deck of her condominium, and shopping.
Her loving husband of 60 years, Charles Anthony Roehl Jr.; her son, Charles Anthony Roehl III; her daughter, Michele Ann Roehl Worden and husband Peter B Worden Jr.; her four grandchildren, Amanda Roehl, Christopher Roehl, Margaret Mary Worden, and Peter B. Worden III; and her two brothers, Allen W. McCreedy and Brian J. McCreedy (Sandi), survive Joyce. Numerous extended family and close friends also survive her.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in A.H. Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods). Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church (467 Fairford Rd. Grosse Pointe Woods), with instate starting at 9:30 a.m. until the beginning of mass. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
