John was a great person with a warm heart. I only knew for 4 years, but in that time we became good friends, my heart aches due to his loss. My deepest sympathy for his family.

He was a wonderful, kind, gentle and quiet man. At times I thought the package he delivered was larger than he - John delivered in our neighborhood for years before moving to the downtown area of B'ham. He would bring packages to the back door if he was concerned about leaving them at the front. He shared stories of Greece and his family and gave us a bottle of wine that he brought home or made. Just last week I was stopped at the light at Brown Street - next to a UPS truck and I looked inside at the driver hoping it was John = to say hello and see that smile of his I will truly miss him - but am thankful that he was a part of my life and I his. My deepest sympathies to John's family and friends.

We are deeply sad to have lost such a wonderful person in John. He will be very much missed . Our deepest sympathy to John' s entire family.

John, you worked your way into our family and into our hearts over the last 40 plus years. We will never know a harder working, kinder, gentle man. Always a smile, wave and a nod from the big brown truck. Our conversations always were ended by you saying "I got to go Bill" 4 decades weren't enough. It's been an honor to know you. You have taught me how meaningful small moments can be. Thank you for everything John I know you've got to go.

John, We'll never get used to not seeing you every day. You were such a dedicated, loyal employee for UPS. You set the standard. We will miss you so much, thanks for everything and rest in peace. From Carl, Lenore, Walter and Sophie.

Dear John, We have known you for many years as a very special friend to our company and we have appreciated and enjoyed all of your informative letters. Your kindness and generosity will always be remembered. You have become a cherished friend. We will never forget you.

There are words in the dictionary that have a picture of John next to the definition. A few of those words are Caring, Thoughtful and Hustle. You worked very hard and I hope the relationships you had with your customers was as rewarding for you as it was for us. At least 6 of us have know you for over 30 years. One time I saw you on your route, you had seen a pigeon get injured. We wrapped it up and you asked me to take it to Gasow Veterinary Hospital for help. You spoke of your nephew Kris often. One of our car buffs commented, you had driven the brown box truck for so long you drove it like a small car. Before the internet you were (and remained) our network site. You knew who to recommend no matter what the need. Forester Laidlaw Florist recalled telling you that you bounced around like a 40 year old. You touched each one of us. We will miss you at work and are thankful for the time we shared out of work too!

We have a gut feeling John will continue to run his route for a bit longer, only this time with "wings". Just imagine John, nudging his co-workers and coaching them on the job. You will truly be missed and You will always be remembered.

Dear John, I am so happy for the special friendship we enjoyed over the past several years. I am very sorry I never got to meet you in person but i do know what an exceptional individual you were, so sensitive, caring, interesting, generous, and always thinking of others I have fond memories of you and how you described the beauty of Mother Nature on your walks. You were one of the finest gentlemen I have ever known. All of us who have had the pleasure of knowing you certainly understand what I mean. We will miss you but we all will keep you in our hearts, an extraordinary individual, now an angel..

Dear John, you will be greatly missed you truly were one of the nicest persons I've ever met. The words Loyal, Honest, Kind, Punctual, and Friend come to mind when I think of you. My deepest condolences to your family, I know they will truly miss you. Rest in Peace you gentle soul.

Dear John you will be missed dearly by many. I will miss your smile and extra attention you gave us here at Flex-cable. You may be gone but never forgotten. No more hot days or cold, I know you are now where it is always comfortable. There is now a spot in my heart that cannot believe. I always looked froward to seeing your smile

We were caught off guard today by hearing the news John was gone. We have had the pleasure of knowing John for over 20 years. He was the best! He never had a bad word to say. He would share his stories about traveling to Greece, Sailing and talk about his cars.He would bring in articles from the paper that might interest us. What a kind soul! He was so dedicated to his job. What a loss to UPS and all of their customers . He was a friend to all. You are in our prayers John. Rest in Peace. We will think of you every time a UPS truck goes by.

As you can see from the posted messages John Agridis was well thought of by many individuals. I can vouch that he was a gentle, caring and thoughtful individual. He always had a friendly smile for people except when he was in deep thought about his deliveries. John worked for me as one of my drivers and would always ask if he was doing his job as expected. I happened to see John in Birmingham not to long ago and was surprised he was still working and saddened to hear of his passing. RIP and spread your wings and watch over those you care that are still behind.

John and Family, You will so be missed! Every day for over 20 some years you delivered and picked up our packages. You were one of the most dedicated hardworking U.P.S. Men around. You rarely ever missed a day of work and that in itself is something. You became our friend. I only hope that U.P.S. knows how lucky they were to have you as an employee.
