Jack Gordon Reynolds, a resident of Clinton Township, passed away on November 17, 2020 at the age of 88. A son of Robert and Martha, Jack was born on April 26, 1932 in Detroit. Jack proudly served his country as a corporal in the United States Army. He made his career as a technical serviceman for National Cash Register. Jack's career spanned 38 years. Jack married the love of his life, Caroline Schaff, in 1955 at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Detroit. They were joined in love for 65 years.
Jack was the type of man you would want to be with on a deserted island. He was an expert craftsman and tinkerer, building model boats, cars, and steam engines. He sailed Lake St. Clair first in "a wreck" that Jack had fixed up, before upgrading to his second sailboat. Jack enjoyed flying RC helicopters and making rockets. He would set off the rockets and send his sons to retrieve them, remaining oblivious to any damage done to the neighboring rooftops. Jack loved to relax at his cottage on Stag Island, Canada. He was a private, gentle man who was appreciated and cared for by everyone. Jack will be dearly missed.
Beloved husband of Caroline. Loving father of Paul (Laurie) and Jeff (Kim). Cherished grandfather of Kyle (Al), Kyrbi, Kalan (Ryan), Alexa (Cameron), Brett (Taylor), Samantha (Geoff Clark), Jacob, and Katie. Treasured great-grandfather of Penelope and Georgia. Dear brother of Russell Thomas and the late Patricia. Proud uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Jack will lie in state on Friday, November 20, from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Ronald Catholic Church, 17701 15 Mile Road, Clinton Township, 48035.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
