Herbert Bryson Gross

Herbert Bryson Gross, born November 5, 1916; age 96. Beloved husband of Marie. Successful in business and in life, Mr. Gross exemplified the American Dream. Following his service to his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corp during World War II, he used his smarts, hard work and perseverance to ascend the ranks in the auto industry, rising to the level of purchasing executive at American Motors. Well dressed, quick with a smile, and beyond kind in word and deed, Mr. Gross was always the first in line to reach out a helping hand, showering relatives, friends and strangers alike, with his generosity and affection. A devoted husband and grandfather, Mr. Gross spent the years following his retirement doting on his loving wife Marie, his children, grandchildren, and his five great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Gross will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 2:00pm until 8:00am at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Instate Wednesday 10:00am until time of service 10:30am at the funeral home. Deacon Bill Jamison will officiate.
