Angeline Venettis

Angeline (“Angie”) Venettis, beloved wife, mother, sister, Yia Yia and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 78, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and creativity that will be cherished by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 30 years, the love of her life, Peter Venettis, with whom she shared a beautiful and enduring bond. Their two devoted daughters, Nicole (Christopher Wilczynski) and Alysia (Jeffrey Laethem) were their pride and joy. She was a loving and proud grandmother (Yia Yia) to Joseph, Peter, Jack, Charlie, and Samantha, all of whom adored her and will carry her spirit in their hearts forever.

Born in Detroit on February 22, 1946, Angie was the daughter of Aristides (Harry) and Joann Bouras. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles (Chuck) Bouras, and is survived by her sister, Ann Chalou.

Following high school, Angie was eager to pursue her passion for hairdressing and attended Virginia Farrell Beauty School where she earned her cosmetology license and worked in the profession for several years. Her love for design eventually led her to pursue work as a representative of WLC Industries, Inc., where she enjoyed residential interior decorating for several clients. Angie was always known for her incredible sense of style and creative flair. Her ability to create beauty in everything she touched - whether it was in hair styling, home decorating, gift wrapping, Christmas tree design or floral arranging were admired by all. She will forever be known as a gracious host and amazing cook who loved to entertain, and always went out of her way to make people feel welcome.

Angie’s heart was bigger than life itself. She was known for her generosity and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She had a unique gift for lighting up any room she entered. She loved to laugh and was always a source of warmth and comfort to those around her. Her tenacity, positivity, and selflessness defined her life, and those qualities will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be touched by her love. Despite several health challenges throughout the years, she always maintained an incredibly strong sense of faith in God, courage, strength and perseverance. She will forever be known as a “warrior” and a true survivor. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved Peter.

The family welcomes friends and family to a visitation on Wednesday, November 6th, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Rd. in Grosse Pointe Woods.

Her body will lie instate on Thursday, November 7th at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 21800 Marter Rd., St. Clair Shores, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Twp.
