She was born July 30, 1970 to Willie James Etheridge and Mervin H. Etheridge of Griffin. She was the eldest of two children. She was a faithful and dedicated servant of the Lord. She attended World Changers Ministry in College Park. However, she delighted in fellowshipping with many different congregations.
Dana leaves to cherish her memories her beloved sister, Tamishia Donette Richardson; brother-in-law, Christopher B. Richardson, and one niece, Camille N. Richardson, grandmother, Myrtle Etheridge; uncles, R.J. Etheridge, Isaac Etheridge (Dicey); Samuel Etheridge (Kim), Anthony Etheridge (Phyllis) and Willie Marshall Harris, all of Griffin; aunts, Clara Harps of Detroit, MI, Mary Etheridge of Griffin and Geraldine Webb of Thomaston. A host of cousins and other relatives and friends also survive.
Dana graduated from Griffin High School in 1988. Afterwards she graduated from Brenau Womens College in Gainesville in 1992, later receiving a Master’s Degree in education from Lagrange College in Lagrange. She shared her gift of teaching with the Georgia Public School System as well as tutoring students in her spare time. Dana was a member of Lambda Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Dana truly was a beautiful person inside and out. In her earlier years she loved modeling and being a majorette. She was worldly traveled as a missionary, joyfully spreading the word of God in Africa, Greece and Czech Republic.
A funeral service for Dana Yolanda Etheridge Brown will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
