Mr. Duerr was born in Anniston, Alabama on June 24, 1946, to the late Lewis E. Duerr and Mabel Inez Miller Duerr. He was a retired civil engineer and Veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Davis Duerr.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Allen Duerr of Griffin; sons, Marvin Duerr and Chuck Duerr both of Griffin; step daughters, Tami Steere of Richmond Hills and Beth Ridgeway of North Carolina; sisters, Janice Henderson of Powder Springs, Mary Pittman of Powder Springs and Nell Duerr of Smyrna; sister in law, Faye Duerr of Smyrna. Other survivors include grandchildren, Chase, Brandon, Hanna and Mason Duerr, Emily Steere, Josh and Jordan Ridgeway as well as three great grandchildren Joshua Clay Duerr, Logan Duerr and Devon Baugh.
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Duerr will be conducted on Tuesday March 26, 2013, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Butler will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday March 25, 2013, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
