W. Duanne Clawson

W. Duanne Clawson, 87 of Gresham OR, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2010. He was born on June 3, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Orval Nicholas and Alice Lucille (Wiltshire) Clawson. He graduated from Grant High School and was a veteran of the US Army. He worked as a grocer for over 50 years for various area stores. He married Lucille Joan Wallace on October 10, 1970 in Salem, Oregon. He has lived in Gresham since 1992. Duanne has been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 1971. He was active with 4H and Boy Scouts for many years. He enjoyed missionary work, singing in the church choir, woodworking, horseshoes and golfing.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joan in 2005 and by his brother Rodger Clawson and sister Darlene Thomas-Goodding. He is survived by his daughters Linda Wallace of Wasilla AK, Sandra Snyder of Newport OR and L. Gayle Gustafson of Portland OR; brother W. Orval “Bill” Clawson of Portland OR; grandchildren Matthew Wallace of Chehalis WA, Jason Wallace of Wasilla AK, Jennifer Wallace of Idaho Falls ID, Victoria Bennett of Anchorage AK, William Wallace of Porterville CA, Melissa Kellum of Fort Rucker AL and Jeffery Wallace of Wasilla AK and fourteen great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10:00am in the Relief Society Room with services to follow at 11:00am at the Gresham Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3600 SE 182nd Avenue in Gresham.
