Terry was a friend to me and was in our circle of friends who raced and hung out. Tom lived next door to my mother-in-law.

One of my favorite memories was downtown cruising and he had a sticker in his window that just said Honke. The fun we had with other cruisers that night giving us crap about that sticker. Terry's enormous smile because they were. 

Rest easy my friend, The track is much smoother now.

Debby, so sorry for your loss. We use to work together so I hope you remember me. I was just looking at Gartner's web site and menu's and they had Terry's name down for being the sausage maker. I was hoping he was still there so I could find you, but when I Googled him I saw the obituary. I am in Assisted Living now and I would love to connect with you again. I met Terry in the first grade at St. Anne Catholic school. Terry, Dave Orth, and I quickly became the Three Amigos, camping in Terry's back yard with licorice, comic books and BB guns. He went to Central Catholic and I went to Reynolds. There I met and became friends with his future wife Debbie. During his years at Gartners I would take my young sons in and he would come out from the back and give them each a free pepperoni stick, a highlight to their day! He was a generous and wonderful man who will be sorely missed.

Hillary, Granger and I will miss seeing Terry in the garage/driveway. We will miss his kind words, fun laugh and dog loves. Hugs from all of us.

We haven’t known Terry for many years, only 7, but heard every story about his wild and crazy ways at least twice! Terry always seemed to find his way to our open garage door, pull up a lawn chair and put down a beer or 2 or 3!He was always very helpful to figure out an issue with a power tool or some suggestions on how to fix a construction dilemma!
Our hearts are sad as his passing was way to early! The neighborhood will miss him more than he would have ever imagined!

Many times we drove by or walked by and always a plus when the garage door was open , those who was fortunate to know him and and share a Coors or 2 , I enjoyed our talks and always had a treat for our English Springer Trish , she wound pull hard knowing there was a treat at his home , I’ll miss his laugh and stories, no one I know had a cleaner truck 365 days a year 👍😊

I met Terry in 1970 the first day of high school. We instantly became best friends. He lived at the end of 199th in Gresham with the old trolley tracks in his backyard. Riding dirt bikes in the gravel pits and by the Kmart in Gresham were some of our favorite things to do. 
He got a job at the nursing home up on Division but hated it. I got a job at Gartners’s meats doing clean up and Terry started working there soon after. After graduating we both got on full time and went through the apprenticeship program learning how to make hams, bacon and sausage. Terry worked there for 38 years retiring in 2012. 
We kept in contact through the years stopping by each other’s house to visit and have a beer or two. 
He contacted me to wish me a Merry Christmas and said it was his turn to come to my place next. I told him I’d get ahold of him later to meet up but unfortunately he left us before it happened. 
I’ll greatly miss my brother from another mother and the 52 years of friendship we had. It’s my turn to buy we meet again on the other side. Love you Terry. 


I met Terry many years ago.

  I would be walking my dog Piper and he introduced his dog Buddy to  us and we all became great friends.  We had many play dates with Terry and Buddy.

Terry was such a generous person.  He helped my family in many ways. He showed us how to tune up our lawn mower,  how to refinish my kitchen cabinets and most important to pick up and bring over Pipers swimming pool.

I miss that smiling face and wave as I drove my by.

Terry was a wonderful, generous neighbor. He seemed always to be in his garage working when I passed his home on my daily walks.  When my dog, Sadie Mae, was alive she would always whine and jump for joy as we approached Terry’s house.  She never reacted this way with anyone else and she and Terry always gave each other a big hug - no treats involved.  She was a good judge of character.  Terry helped put up my outdoor lights and door bell free of charge. Terry, a kind gentleman , was always there for everyone. I will miss our daily chats.  My condolences to his loving wife, Debbie, and the family. Terry was a light for the neighborhood and will be sorely missed.
