Patrick was born March 17, 1969 in Manchester, NH. Legend has it, the Merrimack River flowed green that day and Guinness beer poured from taps around the world.
First and foremost, Patrick was a devoted husband to his wife, Erin and an enthusiastic father to his twin sons, Harry Edward and John Monroe. In addition to those roles, he was an amazing father to his fur babies, and was often found lying on the floor cuddling with his dogs, Frankie and Lola, and his feline companion, Desi. Patrick, though a dedicated provider to his family, enjoyed ocean camping (he was an accomplished surfer…of the internet), hiking to beautiful waterfalls, or fishing Alaska waters. Really, spending any time adventuring in nature with his family was a priority for him. Family game night was also a favorite, yet when competition inevitably turned heated, the only thing that would restore the peace was watching the family’s favorite New England sports teams together (at least the Mitchell version of peace). Happy hour, spicy wings, and pinball were some of his popular ways to unwind. Patrick also enjoyed cooking on the grill and creating yummy meals for his family, yet somehow, and conveniently, he never found the door handle to the dishwasher. He was a lover of music and appreciated a wide assortment and was often found attending concerts, even seeing Buffett in Paris in 2018. He especially identified as a John Prine/E-Street/Parrot/Dead Head. Jimmy, Jerry, John, and Patrick are going to be eating a lot of ‘Cheeseburgers in Paradise’, while ‘Whistlin’ and Fishin’ in a cave up in the hills in Utah.
Way back when (1987), Patrick graduated from Memorial High School in Manch-Vegas, NH. He then went on to attend Plymouth State College, where he was a brother at the fraternity Omega Omicron. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1991. Patrick further continued his education by attending the Chicago School of Professional Psychology where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Industry and Organizational Psychology. In addition to acquiring his higher education degrees during this time, Patrick developed a stable and often erratic relationship with coffee. Indirectly, this relationship inspired his most recent career as the VP of Manufacturing at Farmer Brothers (Coffee Bean International) in Portland, OR.
Patrick is survived by his wife of 23 years, Erin (Carlucci) Mitchell; his two sons, Harry and John; his brother, John Mitchell (Mary), his sister, Karen O’Shaughnessy (Chris); his sister, Kathy Labbe; his sister, Mary Francis Tintle; his mother and father-in-law, Gail and George Carlucci; his sister- in-laws, Heather McCarthy (Joe), Danielle Hill (Danny); and his many nieces and nephews whom he absolutely adored. He is preceded in death by his parents, Janet Dwyer Mitchell, and John “Mitch” Mitchell; his mother in-law; Betz Carlucci and his niece, Hope Elizabeth.
