Wolf, Nancy 64 July 25, 1950 – Aug. 19, 2014 A funeral and graveside burial will be held for Nancy at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home and Forest Lawn Cemetery and Mausoleum in Gresham. A luncheon reception will follow in Troutdale in the Attic Room of the Power Station Pub, McMenamins Edgefield.
A devoted lover of both cats and the written word, Nancy was born in Newport, Washington. Her family moved to Portland when she was an infant. She graduated from Gresham High School in 1968. In 2002 she earned a bachelor of arts degree in arts and humanities from Linfield College in McMinnville. In her twenties, she lived in Europe, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. She spent the rest of her life in the Pacific Northwest, settling first in
the Portland area and then moving to Salem.
Nancy was a 15-year employee of Oregon Catholic Press, serving as a gifted writer, editor, proofreader, and executive assistant. She leaves a legacy marked by a reverence for words and love of punctuation, both the accurate and the humorously misplaced. She will be greatly missed by her colleagues.
She was preceded in death by Antonio Francisco Dias Dos Santos (2014), her longtime companion of Salem; brother Randy Allen Hottenstein Wallace (1994); father Seibert Edwin Hottenstein (1991); and mother Esther Irene Hottenstein (1980).
She is survived by brother Michael Barry McBee (Jamie) of Mulino; nephew Joshua Michael McBee of Clackamas, niece Amber Dawn McBee Deceased, niece Brittany Mykel McBee of Portland, niece Kelsea Leeanna McBee of Portland, niece Peyten Cheyenne Farris (Donny) of Molalla, niece Emily Justine Spain of Mulino. nephew Kiefer Henning McBee of Mulino, nephew Gracen JoHannah McBee Deceased, nephew Tanner Michael Theodore McBee of Mulino, niece Johannah Addison Faith McBee of Mulino, niece Wednesday Nancy Karnetha McBee of Mulino, niece L’orali Dawn Galati (Allen) of Beaverton; nephew Michael John Galati (Jennifer) of Newport; sister Vicky Kay DeClue (Jim) of The Dalles; niece Tessa Marie Tarr (Brandon) of Tacoma; niece Jennifer Kay DeClue (Sam) of Beaverton; niece Shauna Michelle Kemp (Josh) of Battleground; stepson David Eugene Bui (Cheryl) of Villa Park, CA; grandsons Matthew David Bui and Wyatt Benjamin Bui, both of Villa Park, CA; stepdaughter Bettina Marguerite Bui Cagwin (Travis) of Astoria; grandson Tannar Micheal Cagwin of Astoria; goddaughter Sophia Marie Fajer of Corvallis; and numerous other nieces, nephews, friends, and “little buddies” whom she loved with all her heart.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oregon Humane Society.
