Louise was born April 10, 1936 in Webb City, Missouri to Spencer and Hattie (Lewis) Gilliam. The family moved to Troutdale when she was still very young. She attended Fairview Elementary School and graduated from Gresham High School. Louise worked at St. Vincent’s for many years. She later worked as a waitress at various places including a cafe at Eastmont Bowling Lanes where she met Frank T. Kaiser. Frank ordered a cup of tea from Louise. When Frank left to continue bowling, he told Louise to save his teabag and he would return. She saved his teabag and sure enough, he returned. They were married on March 7th, 1964. She also waitressed at Elmer’s in Gresham from the day they opened until she retired in 1994. After the Portland Trail Blazers Championship Team practiced in Gresham, many would go to Elmer’s where Louise would wait on them. After many years of waiting on the team, Louise became an avid Blazers fan. She loved going to the games and following her favorite team on the radio and television. Louise enjoyed needlepoint, reading, gardening and animals.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her daughters, Pam Beutler of Troutdale, OR; Mary Schildan of Portland, OR; Ann Kaiser of Troutdale, OR; son, Dana Kaiser of Portland, OR; sisters Judy Hutchinson and Ruby Littlefield of Troutdale; grandchildren Elisha, Shauna and Kerri; and 1 great-granddaughter, Breona.
