Judith “Judy” Merlene Baker (Hunefeld), aged 88, passed away on July 17, 2024, in Gresham, Oregon.
Born on September 17, 1935, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, she was known for her gentle spirit and kind-hearted nature. Judy was a tireless and loyal companion to her husband Jens whom she married in Portland, Oregon on August 4, 1961. In Salem, Oregon they operated a successful small business for many years. She cherished her family deeply, a loving bond that extended from her children to her great grandchildren.
Judy's life was marked by her love for her flower gardens, which she tended with great care and joy. She loved leisurely walks and engaging in various tasks that kept her active and content.
She is survived by her son, Todd Baker; daughter-in-law, Karla Baker; daughter, Wendy Gabbert; son-in-law, Doug Gabbert; grandchildren, Jason Gabbert (Connie) and Amy Crosby (Adam); and great-grandchildren, Selah, Cyan, Caslon, Oliver, Clancy, and Waverly. Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jens “Jack” Baker, and her parents, Merle and Inez Hunefeld.
Judy's memory will be cherished by those who knew her, as a testament to her loving nature and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life. Her legacy of kindness and affection lives on through her family, who continue to honor her memory.
