Carmen Villegas, 85 of Troutdale OR, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023. She was born on March 2, 1937 in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico to Manuel Lopez and Angelina Mora. Carmen married Eldrin W. Waid at Ft. Bliss Army Base in El Paso, Texas in 1956. After receiving her CNA license, she worked as a caregiver for most of her life and was a talented herbalist. Carmen enjoyed painting and loved her many trips to Newport Beach while in California. The movie “Coco” was one of her favorites and was representative of her memories of Mexico.
Carmen is survived by her daughter Angela Merritt-Frymire (Roger) of Troutdale OR; sons Ralph Waid (Michele) of Los Banos CA, Robert Waid (Lori) of Lancaster CA and Roy Waid (Tracy) of Rio Dell CA; sisters Concha Aguirre and Bertha Stackhouse both of Simi Valley CA and Ana Villegas of Mexico; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews with Yolanda and Reuben being two of her favorites.
