Augusta Helen Maude Kendrick

Augusta Helen Maude (Lofstedt) Kendrick was born August 12, 1924 in Corbett, OR to Charles Lofstedt and Clara (Mannthey) Lofstedt. She was the 4th child, having 2 brothers Carl and Clarence and 3 sisters Sophia, Ellen and Frieda. She graduated from Columbian High School in Corbett and attended Northwest Christian College in Eugene, Oregon.

She was married to James Kendrick of Houston, Texas for 67 years until his death in 2011. They had 2 daughters, Pat Crampton (Steve) and Roxie Swanson, plus 5 grandchildren Julie, Christy, Melissa, Phillip and Carolyn, plus 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Prior to retirement she worked 30 years as the bookkeeper at W.R. Hicks in Gresham. She was active at Mountainview Christian Church and the Gresham VFW Post with her husband. They travelled to Breden, Holland where Jim was injured in WWII and to Washington, D.C. to visit the WWII memorial.

She will be missed by many friends and family.

There will be a private burial at Willamette National Cemetery on Feb. 25, 2021. A memorial service will be on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Mountainview Christian Church, 12890 NE Cleveland Ave. in Gresham.
