Richard "Rick" Alan Stroud lost his courageous fight against cancer on July 23, 2020 in Little Rock, Arkansas, surrounded by his loving family. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Stroud and Billye (Miller) Stroud and his brother Tim Stroud.
Rick grew up in Mena, Arkansas where he attended Mena Schools from 1st grade through the 12th grade. Rick was a gifted athlete. During his senior year in high school, Rick lettered in football, basketball and track. Rick was also an avid golfer and excelled in baseball as well. Upon graduation from high school, Rick received numerous athletic scholarships and ended up attending Ouachita Baptist University. Rick was also drafted by the Kansas City Royals Baseball Organization. Rick spent his entire adult life working in the building and supply/construction industry. In the later part of his life, Rick moved to Little Rock to be with his fiancé, Dana.
Rick is survived by his two daughters, Lauren Stroud of Harrison, Arkansas and Austin Stroud of Texarkana, Arkansas; his loving fiancé, Dana Wilson of Little Rock, Arkansas; his sister, Terri Reano and husband, Paul of Witcherville, Arkansas; his brother, Don and wife, Marilyn of Guntersville, Alabama, as well as numerous nieces, cousins and a nephew.
Rick adored his two daughters, and loved to brag on them anytime he had the opportunity.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 27 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Liberty Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m., prior to the service.
