Our aunt Mary was a blessing to be around, she was always wanting get you something to eat and always concerned about your health and one of the last things she said to me, I'm going to whip you if you don't slow down, I thank God for her and Mike Marsha, Charlie and shawn  and all the family members, I'm a blessed man and woman to be part of them , God bless ya'll and be with ya'll.

I will miss you and I will always love you forever 

There is not enough words to say how great my grandmother was to me. The first time as a little boy I was introduced to grandma and grandpa Jay, they always made me feel like their own family. Grandma Mary has taught me several great things in life from gardening,  to making homemade ice-cream, to just showing love. Grandma Mary was the first person to get me my first job at the IGA and I always loved working next to here at the store. Grandma Mary will be missed everyday and I am so glad I was able to see here before her passing. Grandma I love you so much and thank you for being in my life. 

Our dear, sweet Aunt Mary Sue. My mother's only brother, Uncle Jay's cherished wife. Aunt Mary Sue was and always be part of most fond memories. To my cousins, Michael Jay and Marsha,  my sincere prayers and love 💘. 

Heaven gained a precious angel. Mary was like another Mom to me growing up. Mike and Marsha, I am so sorry to hear this. I love you all.

I have been truly blessed to have had this Woman for a Mom. She loved working and going to garage sales. Always looking to buy stuff for others and to resale at her home as well. She always put others before herself.(ALWAYS). I could tell so many stories about her but it would take weeks. Her and Dad was the Greatest

I will never forget the first time I met Mary.  Our family had just moved in the Jenny Lind area in 2001 and there was a yard sale that had tables that lined both sides of the driveway and i stopped just to browse and meet my neighbors.  Mary came out into the garage and she had the sweetest smile.  She welcomed me and asked me if i was from the area and i proceeded to tell her my family and I just moved here and that was all it took.  We were friends from that moment on.  I always enjoyed her company as well as her husband.  She will be truly missed but will always have a special place in our hearts along with the best memories.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time and always.

I have known this special lady since I was about 3 years old. Such class. She was so sweet, hardworking and one of the the best mothers I have ever been around. Prayers for Marsha, Mike and the entire family. I know she will be greatly missed. Painful loss for our world but great gain for heaven. 🙏

Mrs. Owens leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter, Marsha Cossey and husband, Charles of Fort Smith; one son, Mike Owens and Mary Janette Parnell of Fort Smith; one sister, Clara Woodall of Waldron; one brother, Jack “Bud” Hunt and wife, Eva of Waldron; two grandsons, Shawn Cossey and Matt Smith and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Owens; one daughter, Peggy Owens; one sister, Glenda Owens and one brother, Eddie Hunt.
