Mary Ann (Evans) Gamble

Mary Ann (Evans) Gamble, 92, of Jenny Lind, Arkansas passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 in Barling, Arkansas. She was born August 29, 1928 in Jenny Lind. Mary was a published writer and poet, writing a weekly column for the Greenwood Democrat. She was a substitute grade school teacher, member of Faith Baptist Church of Jenny Lind, the Sebastian County Historical Society and the Foster Grandparent Program and worked as a volunteer for the Christian Women’s Job Corp and the Set Free Prison System grading Bible Study papers.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Gamble of Van Buren and Mark Gamble of Jenny Lind. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gamble.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, June 3 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Old Jenny Lind Cemetery.
