Joy Inez Monasco, 67, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. She was born August 20, 1957 in Greenwood, Arkansas to John Thomas and Lavada (Basham) Canada. She was retired from retail sales and attended Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, James Pyle of Fort Smith; one daughter, Cassandra Monasco of Fort Smith; one brother, Merel Canada of Greenwood; two sisters, Delores Lovell of Greenwood and Mary Payne of Konawa, OK; a sister-in-law, Anna Canada of Greenwood and two granddaughters, Luna Standley and Rayne Patterson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Elmer, Granville and John Canada and one sister, Juanita Denton.
Joy was a beloved mother and grandmother, who dedicated her love and life to her children and granddaughters.
Cremation is under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
