Jim Miller

Jim Miller, 74, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born July 10, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas to Alfred Louis and Eloise Marie (Johnson) Miller. He was retired from Baldor, a member of the Denver Street Baptist Church and a proud U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Miller; one son, Jimmy Miller of Nashville, TN; one daughter, Shelly Miller of Greenwood; one sister, Lovella Milam of Tulsa; two grandchildren, Lacey Rhyne and husband, Clay and Marisa Markward; two great grandchildren, Jameson Knox Rhyne and Kolt Daniel Rhyne; his brother-in-law, Jerry Winford and wife, Della and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Wilson and Flora Mae Winford; one brother, Randy Miller and a sister, Landra Delp.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 15 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial with military honors at Liberty Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Lowe, Mike Hampton, Josh Yarbrough, Nick McCann, Cody Lovell and Tim Delp. Honorary pallbearers will be Waylen Parker, Harold Smith, Merle Canada, Bruce Niles, Hal Mickle, Bill Burlison, David Powell, Bob Traylor, James Treat, Robert “Gar” Schlinker, Bro. George Reddin, Jimmy Cleve Carter, James Laminack, John Nast, John Goddard, Stewart Leonard and Lane Denison.
