F. Olene Durham Burwell, 104, of Booneville, Arkansas passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 in Booneville. She was born December 3, 1919 in the Earl Prairie Community to Luther and Rosa Ella (Green) Bates. She was retired from Smee Drug Store in Booneville after 50 years of service and was a member and past elder of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Booneville. She and her husband, Thomas, loved to travel.
She is survived by multiple nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Durham and Jim Burwell and two sisters, Willa Dean Thomas and Thelma Allen.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, October 17 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial to follow at Cauthron Cemetery in Booneville. Viewing will be Wednesday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be James Hopkins, Buddy Littlefield, Thad Shirey, Bill Smith, Charlie Miesner and Joe Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Kautz and members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Churches in Booneville and Old Union.
