Edward Donald Quigley, Jr., 91, of Huntington passed from this earth Sunday, May 13 2012 at his home. He has been reunited with is beloved wife, Betty M. Quigley who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his father, Edward Donald Quigley, Sr.; his mother, Margaret Katherine Cerf; his brother, Charles Daniel Quigley, and his step-daughter, Georgia Ann Morgan. He was known as “Grandpa” by all, and touched many people in his life. He was an honored veteran of the Navy and Air Force serving in WWII and Korea. He loved to travel to see his family, and was an adventurer and world traveler. At the age of seventy-three he pulled up stakes in California and made his move to Mena, Arkansas to live his dream of a country home, and then on to Huntington, Arkansas. He was a great man and friend.
He will be greatly missed by his step-son, George Robert Wilson of Hyde Park, NY; two grandsons, Mark Torresani of Santa Barbara, CA and Charles Robert Wilson of New Milford, CT; two granddaughters, Nancy Jane Michaud and husband, John of Bridgeport, CT and Karen Lynn Jackson and husband, Robert (Dub) of Huntington; twelve great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Judy Jackson and husband, James of Jenks, OK, and their two daughters, Jamie and Jessica.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 18 at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. Cremation arrangements are by McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. There will be no public viewing.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
