Carrie J. Minor (née Fordham), 45, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born in Cortland, New York on December 20, 1978 to Curtis and Deborah (Auspelmyer) Fordham. She attended various schools in Virginia, Ohio, and West Virginia before she graduated from Hahnville High School in Louisiana in 1997. She completed her B.S. and Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Central Arkansas in 2003 and began her career as a physical therapist at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.
She worked at a small therapy clinic in Hot Springs before starting at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith in 2008 as an acute care therapist. She progressed through various leadership roles, ending as director of therapy services. During her 16 years at Mercy, Carrie touched many lives, both of patients and coworkers.
She enjoyed a wide variety of activities: working on the JayCees fall Haunted House with her husband Mitch, camping and boating at Lake Tenkiller, visiting family in New Orleans and Florida and working on various outreach activities with the Mercy Foundation.
She is survived by her parents, Curt and Debbie Fordham of Ocala, FL; her brother, Christopher Fordham and his wife, Kim, of Cypress, TX; her grandmother, Eileene Fordham of Punta Gorda, FL; step-daughter, McKenna Minor of Newport, AR; stepson, Spencer Foster of West Memphis, AR; her partner, Cass Moquett and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 17 at the Riverfront Pavilion, 100 No. B St. in Fort Smith. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
