Arvel W. Gish

Arvel W. Gish, 63, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was master mechanic, an elder of Christian Fellowship of Greenwood and a U.S. Army veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; four daughters, Tammie Degen and husband, Todd of Hartford, Sherika Schwietzer and finance, Duane Holms of Hartford, Rayshawna Gish and finance, Christopher Johnson of Sallisaw and Lilly Gish of the home; three brothers, Tommy Gish and wife, Marlene of Sarcoxie, MO, Joe Gish and wife, Jacque of Hartford and David Gish of Hartford; four sisters, Oval Unruh and husband, Jerry of Fort Smith, Joyce Jones of Waldron, Mary Williams and husband, Dewayne of Hartford and Francis Norrid of Booneville and two grandchildren, Breanna and Katie Schwietzer of Hartford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vilma (Boyster) and T.J. Gish, one brother, Ray Gish and two sisiters, Margarett Enzy and Bonnie Abbott.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, February 10 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel with inurnment with military honors at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
