Frank G. Riccio

He was predeceased by parents Anthony “Pop” Riccio of Naples, Italy and Mary Pettrucelli of Meriden, CT, and brothers Matthew Riccio and Fredrick Riccio.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mary Anne Barrett, of Spidal, Ireland, son Frank J. Riccio and his wife Cheryl A. Riccio of Old Greenwich, CT, and daughters Mary Riccio and husband Paul Boison, of Rocky Hill, CT and Anne M. Regnery and her husband John Regnery of Newtown, CT.

Frank’s grand children include Megan E Regnery, Stephen L Riccio, Scott M. Regnery Sarah E. Boison, John J. Boison and Frank J Riccio Jr. He also had many nieces and nephews

Frank was born June 14, 1924 at Greenwich Hospital and attended Greenwich schools. He was a graduate of Greenwich High School class of 1942. He enjoyed playing softball and was an enthusiastic fan of 1940’s Big Band Music. As a young man he would journey to New York City’s “Paramount Theater” to experience legends like Frank Sinatra and Cab Calloway.

Frank worked for “Pepperidge Farms” for over 30 years as a route driver and later as a retail store manager. In his retirement he developed a love for gardening and was a lifelong fan of the NY Yankees and UCONN Basketball Teams.

Frank was a most congenial man who won over many friends with his gentleness and humor. Franks’ family loved hearing him share memories of his life growing up in Greenwich during the Great Depression years. He enjoyed travel with family to Ireland and for many years wintered in Desert Hot Springs, CA. Frank was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church.

Family and friends may call at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, located at 31 Arch Street in Greenwich, CT on Friday May 27th from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday May 28th at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave, Riverside. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Greenwich.
