David Charles Hall

It is with great sadness that the family of David Charles Hall "Hatman" announces his untimely passing on June 23rd, 2024 at the age of 65 in Greenwich, Connecticut. David was born on March 14th, 1959, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and grew up in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. His unforeseen passing has left a void in the hearts of many.

David was the beloved husband of Mary Jean Hall, known as Jeannie, with whom he shared 37 incredible years of marriage. He was a devoted father to his loving son, Matthew Charles Hall, who carries forward David’s great legacy. He is survived by his loving mother, Gloria Hall, and his cherished sisters and spouses, Diane (Dennis) Royer and Linda (Michael) Matthews. His nephews, Nicolas Royer, Logan Matthews, and Peter Matthews will dearly miss David. He was predeceased by his father, Edward Charles Hall.

David's educational journey led him to graduate from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in printing with a minor in computer science. His career path demonstrated his versatility and commitment to growth, contributing significantly to publishing giants like Conde Nast, Golden Books, and Quebecor. Later, David dedicated his expertise to computer consulting at Carl Olson Associates. His entrepreneurial spirit flourished in 2004 when he founded Hall’s Edge Inc., providing innovative custom cabinetry parts for professional cabinet makers thus, enabling craftsmanship to reach new heights.

David’s enthusiasm for life was evident through his love of golf, an avid NY Giants fan, Frisbee fanatic and piano player. He enjoyed taking long walks and was often engrossed in listening to podcasts. He was also an Assistant Scout Master, devoting time to nurturing future generations through scouting. David’s life was also graced by the camaraderie of his AEPi fraternity brothers. He always looked forward and enjoyed their annual canoe trips.

David loved everyone because of his tremendous heart. He had an enduring love and partnership with his wife. He was the proudest father to his son. Whether it was cheering his son on at soccer, basketball, water polo or ultimate Frisbee, David was always present and the biggest fan. David guided his son with values through boundless conversation. He was devoted to his parents and was an outstanding brother to his sisters. He was the funniest uncle to his nephews. David loved his friends as if they were family. He was the neighbor that would always lend a hand. Many coworkers and employees admired his leadership at work. David was simply extraordinary and wonderful.

David transformed every life he touched, building a legacy of passion, curiosity, and unselfishness. His sudden departure leaves us with the challenge to live fully and love deeply in his memory. He will forever remain an emblem of kindness and inspiration.

For those wishing to extend their condolences, Family and friends are invited to attend a wake at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT 06830 on Sunday June 30th, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cemetery Services will be private on Monday July 1st, 2024.
