Bill served in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged. He later worked for Progressive Builders where he retired after 50 years. He was a longtime member of Lee Road United Methodist Church. He moved to Greenwood, SC and was currently a member of Cedarwood Community Church in Greenwood, SC. He loved everyone he met, and never met a stranger. He loved the outdoors and spending time on his front porch, but most of all he loved the Lord.
Bill is survived by his son Tommy Giffin (Billie); his sister Alene Ingram; his sisters-in-law Becky McGowan, Marie Ussery and Dianne Roll.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years Doris U. Giffin; his parents; his sisters Joyce Webster and Geraldine Gladney.
A visitation for Bill will be held Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations Chapel at, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, SC 29607, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 pm with Reverend Douglas Gilliland and Reverend Clint Carter officiating.
The family wishes to give a very special thank you to all the caregivers who assisted in caring for Bill; especially Jennifer, Brooklyn and Kat.
