Born in Opelika, AL, he was the son of the late William W. Johnson Sr. and Agata Palmisano Johnson.
Bill was a graduate of the University of Georgia, and remained a lifelong "Dawg". His career was in the understanding of people, which led to success in all of life's endeavors. His most fond times were on the lake with his family. He was a member of Christ Church, Episcopal.
He is survived by his loving family, wife of 27 years, Grace Johnson of the home; daughters, Whitnie Thompson (Mark) and Maggie Johnson; sons, William W. Johnson III (Lillian), Greg Johnson (Marie), and Cole Johnson; sisters, Billie Kay Hodge and Taina Powell (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Cayman, August, Zachary, Jaiden, Lochlin, Levee and William to whom he was affectionately called "DaddyBoat". He was predeceased by his sister, Noneal Davenport.
A Service to Celebrate his Life will be Thursday, October 1, at 4:00pm at The Mackey Mortuary with the Reverend Bob Chiles officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00pm until 3:45pm at the mortuary.
