Wayne Bishop

Harold Wayne Bishop, 75, of Greenville S.C. found his peace after a six-year battle with Alzheimer’s on April 28th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father and papa. Wayne, as most people knew him was born in Spartanburg County on November 13th, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold Ezra Bishop and Margaret Davis Bishop. He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn Sharbel Bishop. His daughter Resheda Leann Bishop, grandsons Charles D. Dixon, Jacob I. Dixon, Scott E. Dixon and Davis D. Dixon. His sister Cheryl (Ron) Popiel and brother Norwood (Dixie) Bishop and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

He graduated from Clemson University in 1971. He was President of Glass Fibre Sales Group, a partner in WCNB LLC., and employed by Bishop UK Limited and Pee Dee Ceramics.

He was a constant source of love and support for his family, and they will miss him dearly. He was known for his sense of humor and his passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched throughout his life. He was an amazing artist, and his paintings will be his legacy and treasured by those who cherish them. His hobbies were creating beautiful paintings, scuba diving and building memories with his grandsons.

The family would like to thank everyone at Hospice and Palliative Care Palmetto Region and Simpsonville Post Acute Care for their wonderful kindness and attention they gave to our loved one.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family is gathered at his home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association of the Upstate, Via Health Partners formerly known as Palliative Care Palmetto Region.
