She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold F. Tavis of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Sharon was a well-known interior home designer for many years in Lincoln, Nebraska. She and her husband Bill owned and operated a construction and interior materials retail store with locations in Lincoln, NE; Charlotte, NC; and Greenville, SC throughout her career. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lincoln, NE and First Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. Sharon and Bill were lifelong Nebraska Cornhusker fans.
Sharon’s roles of wife, mother and “Gram” were the focus and highlights of her life. Her legacy to her family is the gift of witnessing how she carried out each of these roles with devotion, generosity, and love.
She is survived by two sons: David William Lewis, AIA (Cathy) of Greenville, SC, and Michael Scott Lewis, AIA, NCARB (Diane) of West Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Lyndsey Lewis Glymph (Brett) of Columbia, SC; Mary Carter Lewis of Greenville, SC; Andrew M. Lewis (Allison) of Waukee, IA; Jonathan G. Lewis of West Des Moines, IA; Peter W. Lewis of Des Moines, IA; and Katherine E. Lewis of West Des Moines, Iowa.
The family would like to thank the staff of Kempton Assisted Living, Greer, SC, her dear friends for their love and support, and the pastoral care staff of First Baptist Church Greenville.
