Robin was born on November 26, 1955 in Anderson, South Carolina to William Clayton Bishop Jr. and Robbie Pasour Bishop. After he graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1974, he went on to study Textile Technology at Clemson University and graduated in 1978.
He had a long career in the textile industry, but later went on to be an over-the-road trucker, which led to working for Landair and delivering parts for BMW.
In 2021, he retired from Landair and spent time with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed watching his grandkids in sporting events, working on puzzles, and snuggling his new grandbabies. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and participating in Poker Runs. He was a fan of all sports and teams, but he loved his Clemson Tigers, Atlanta Braves, and the Carolina Panthers.
Robin was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Robbie Bishop, and his brother, Mark Bishop. He is survived by his three children, Sarah Forrester (Jeff), Adam Bishop (Ariane), and Elizabeth Hobbs (Mark); six grandchildren, Dewey (11), Henson (9), and Margaret Forrester (5), Griffin (2) and Everett Hobbs (3 mo.), and Savannah Bishop (3 mo.); his sister Kim Wall (Steve); three nieces and nephews, Crystal Bovender (Jimmy), Clayton (27) and Erin Wall (20); and two great- nieces, McKenna (15) and Teagan Bovender (13).
Visitation will be held at Mackey at Woodlawn, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or The Foundation for a Smoke Free World, organizations Robin’s family feels strongly about.
