Richard E Taylor, age 88, of Greenville, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021. Richard was born September 10, 1933 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Esley and Mamie Lee Taylor.
Richard graduated from Parker High School in 1952. Richard worked at the American Spinning of Cone Mill for 44 years.
Richard enjoyed trips to the mountains, Dollywood, gardening and rabbit hunting.
Richard loved The Lord, his family, reading his Bible everyday and was proud he had read the Bible from beginning to end 12 times.
Richard was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. Richard loved everyone.
Richard is survived by his daughters Cindi Hicks (Rick) and Angie Wortkoetter (Steve); his son Tim Taylor (Amanda); his brother Ronald Taylor (Betty), his sisters Naomi Taylor, Nancy Hanks and Elaine Turner; his grandchildren Devende Whitehead (Walter), Austin Taylor, Shane Taylor (Michelle), Kristie Mabe (Andrew) and Vivian Childs (Logan). Richard is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
A visitation for Richard will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Mountain Creek Baptist Church, 255 W Mountain Creek Church Road, Greenville, SC. A funeral service will occur Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Mountain Creek Baptist Church. A committal will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29609.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Richard's memory may be made to Cancer Society; and Piedmont Park Fire Department , 2119 State Park Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29609.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife Ann Taylor and brother Mitchell Taylor.
