Mr. Williams gave his service to our country as a member of the United State Air Force. He retired after returning from Vietnam with 20 years of service. He served tours of duty in Vietnam, Belgian Congo, Germany, Greenland, as well as state side. He completed his career in accounting and retired from BB&T. He was a member of the Hejaz Shriner Temple, Cooper Lodge #282 A.F.M in Travelers Rest and Augusta Road United Methodist Church. Pops loved spending time with his family and looked forward each July to seeing his Daytona Beach Family.
Surviving are his children, Linda Williams, Leta Leonard, Randy Williams and Debbie Chambers (Ed); one brother, Rex Williams (Dorothy); grandchildren, Marc Shafer, Melanie Rivard, Beth Sexton (Randy), Steven Jacobik, Jeffrey Leonard, Michael Leonard (Cat), Preston Williams (Samantha), Amanda Parker (Trace), Teddy Chambers, Drew Chambers; great grandchildren, Breanna Rivard, Chance Williams, Calvin Williams, Khyler Williams, Maelyn Williams, Bo Parker, Jack Parker and Tripp Parker; and brother-in-law, James Greene. He was predeceased by his wives, Norma Jean Williams and Barbara Ann Williams; his daughter, Judi Egan; and his brother, Carl Williams.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 11:00am at Augusta Road United Methodist Church. Due to Covid, masks will be required. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville SC. The family will briefly gather outside the church, post service. Masks and social distancing will be required outside as well.
