Mike was well known for so many things in the communities where he lived, but most knew him as a faithful servant of God who pastored Red Bluff Baptist Church in Sylvania, Georgia for over 30 years. He was ordained as a pastor after finishing his Bible training at Bob Jones University. Mike was also a skilled carpenter, electrician, and painter who used those skills as bridges to share the love of Christ as he worked in the homes of hundreds of families in the community. As a Vietnam veteran, he enjoyed serving in his local VFW. He loved God and he loved people.
Mike is survived by his wife Beverly and their three daughters and sons-in-law: Forrest and Jennifer McPhail, Matt and Courtney Jones, and Jon and Allison Knisely. Mike is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: Savannah, Micaiah, Elijah, and Sierra McPhail; Lindsey, Erica, Trevor, and Tyler Jones; and Jessica, Lauren, Kara, Andrew, and Rachel Knisely. Mike is also survived by three brothers: Lynn, Steve, and Andy. He is also survived by stepfather Ervin Edmonds. Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Edmonds, and one brother, Doug Roberts.
