Nancy Ann Gilbert Fedder

Nancy G. Fedder Charleston - Nancy Gilbert Fedder, 88, of Charleston, SC, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 due to dementia. Born in Yonkers, NY in 1934 to the late Emma Appel Gilbert and Charles Gilbert, Nancy grew up in Walterboro, SC and attended the University of South Carolina, where she met her future husband, Jerry. They married in 1952 and lived in Seneca, SC for over 43 years, where Jerry opened his law practice. She was a bookkeeper for the law firm while being a homemaker.

Nancy was active in the Seneca Women's Club, enjoyed traveling, and attended many South Carolina Gamecock sporting events. She moved to Greenville, SC in 1998, as she and Jerry became more active in Congregation Beth Israel Synagogue. After Jerry's passing in 2016, she moved to Charleston. Nancy enjoyed seeing her friends from Carolina in Charleston as well as becoming a member of Synagogue Emanu-El in Charleston, SC.

Nancy is survived by her brother, Myron Gilbert (Patti) of Reno, NV; daughter, Karen Fedder of Charleston, SC, and her son, Herbert L. Fedder (Josephine) of Iva, SC; grandchildren Leah Fuller of Summerville, SC, and Jacob Fedder of Greenville, SC; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the caregivers that helped Nancy: Sandy Borgerding, Earlette Edwards-Ladson, Susan Carn, the entire staff at Kempton of Charleston and the staff of Lutheran Hospice.
