Mike married the love of his life, Nancy Humphries, in 1969, and they were happily married for 48 years.
Mike retired from the City of Greenville as Fleet and Safety Service Administrator after 28 years of service. He was owner and operator of Carolina ProDrive LLC, a vehicle safety and training service for businesses. He served as current President of the Executive Sertoma Club of Greenville, and he served as past President of SGFMA. He was a faithful member of the BREAKFAST CLUB at Tommy’s Ham House and a current board member of the South Carolina BBQ Association. He served in and was a member of the National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Greenville and served on the Property Committee at FBG. He was also a faithful member of the Carson Sunday School Class.
Mike was passionate about photography and did a lot of photography work for the associations in which he served. He also loved model trains and woodworking.
In addition to his wife Nancy, Mike is survived by his sisters and brother-in-laws, Kaye and Mike Spearman, and Verdi and Harrill Wallace; his beloved godchild, Kaileigh Spearman; and his dearly loved furbabies, Murphy and Elbert.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Carpenter Chapel at First Baptist Greenville on Friday, February 16th at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-1:45pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 W Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680 or to the charity of your choice.
The family will be at their respective homes.
