Mary Lucille (Lue) Taylor, 73, passed away October 10, 2018. She said many times she wanted to see Jesus and now she has. Mary Lue was born September 23, 1945 to the late John and Hilda Madden. She graduated Parker High School in 1963 where she was the Editor of the yearbook Parkerscope, and graduated Greenville General Hospital School of Nursing in 1966.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Ron Taylor, a son Chris Taylor, a daughter Robin Amorin (Jim), a brother John Madden (Vicky) and brother-in-law Joe Taylor. She is also survived by three nephews Sean (Courtney), Gray (Kristen), Elliott, two nieces Molly and Adrienne (Tim) along with five grand nephews and nieces.
Mary Lue worked 3 years as a RN at the Greenville General Hospital and 25 years at Greer Pediatrics. She was a member of Greer First Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, Sunday School teacher, and served on the Lord’s Supper and Kitchen committees. In 2005, she went to Honduras on a medical mission, volunteered with the Taylors Free Medical Clinic and Greer Communities Ministries until her illness would not allow her to continue. Mary Lue always enjoyed plants, animals and the outdoors.
Over the last 15 years she and her husband were able to visit many of the National Parks, historical and scenic locations they always wanted to visit. In 2015, they rode mules down into the Grand Canyon, stayed overnight at the Phantom Ranch at the bottom of the canyon and rode out the next day. The mule trip had been in the works since 2005 when they first visited the canyon and added the mule ride to the must do list.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Interim Hospice and Home Health Care personnel, Heidi, Darby, Susan, Shannon and Carrie whom with their loving and compassionate care helped keep Mary Lue comfortable the last months of her life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to CurePSP at www.psp.org/marylue or Greer Communities Ministries, www.gcminc.org, 738 S Line Street, Greer, SC 29651.
